Maintaining Marijuana as a controlled, criminal substance is the cause of many more problems than it solves. In the US for example, the prison populations are soaring, with the US being second to Russia with its rate of incarceration per 100,000 people.

While there are hundreds of thousands of victims every year in this country to the current Marijuana laws, certain states are truly awaking to the call of the people… a call for justice and safe access. The laws can differ drastically from state to state, as some are significantly more progressive than others.

As of now, Colorado and Washington are the 2 states that have legalized Marijuana, with many others who are likely not far behind. It is medically legal in a total of 21 of of the 50 states.

Based on government surveys, roughly 25 million Americans have smoked marijuana in the past year, with more than 14 million do so regularly despite the strict laws against its use. Our public policies should reflect this reality, not deny it. Together as people we can send a message to the Federal lawmakers. Be sure to know what laws your state maintains, and make sure to put your vote in the polls when it counts!
